FAMILY STRENGTHENING
PROGRAM
ADVISOR
SOS Children’s
Villages Kazakhstan registered as a non-profit development organization working
in Kazakhstan since 1994, is recruiting NATIONAL
FAMILY STRENGTHENING PROGRAM ADVISOR
as a full time employee, who will be based in the National office in Astana.
Charity Foundation SOS Children’s Villages Kazakhstan was established according
to the agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and SOS Kinderdorf
International, which has a worldwide social and community projects in more than
130 countries. SOS Children’s Villages Kazakhstan is a
social development organization focussing on the care and support of orphans and vulnerable
children. In Kazakhstan we
have facilities and projects in Astana, Almaty and Temirtau.
Main tasks and
responsibilities
- Strategic
development and managing of the National Family Strengthening Programme
- Explores
opportunities and develops proposals for new family strengthening projects
- Superior of Project
Coordinators in Astana, Almaty and Temirtau, guides, motivates, and supports
them in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects
- Proposes strategic
goals and participates in the development and implementation of the National
Plan in the area of family strengthening
- Ensures that the
set goals under her/his responsibility are reached
- Provides expertise
to the National Director
- Be also in charge
of establishing and maintaining cooperation/partnerships with other
stakeholders in the field of family strengthening
- Being active in
relevant forums with the aim to advocate on behalf of the organisation for the
rights of children at risk of losing the care of their family.
Minimum qualifications,
experience and skills
- Higher education in social, pedagogical or
psychological sciences, development studies, community development, law or
public administration
- At least 3 years experience of implementing of social
programme/s
- Experiences in
working with vulnerable children and families
- Strong skills and
experience in project management, planning, monitoring, research and
evaluation.
- Experience in development
of public funding applications
- Experience in
budget development and knowledge in financial management
- Willingness to
travel frequently
- Ability to lead
co-workers and work independently
- Good spoken and
written English
- Excellent
communication and networking skills
- Good knowledge of children’s
rights and social development issues (gender, education, health, HIV/AIDS)
Personality Characteristics
- Able to manage own
time and to work under high pressure
- Good at
relationship building with different levels of the organisation
- Team player
- Keep deadlines
Preferred additional criteria
- Age up to 45
- Good MS Office
skills
- Experience in
community mobilization
- Experience in NGO
sector is a big plus
- Will and ability to
cope with flexible working hours and to travel occasionally.
